Roxbury/North Dorchester Neighborhood Opportunity Center

Services

IN ADDITION

At the ABCD Roxbury/North Dorchester Neighborhood Opportunity Center, we offer Senior Brown Bag food distribution for Boston residents age 65 and older on the last Tuesday of the month. We also host the Happy Hands senior community crochet and knitting circle.

From December through March, we distribute winter coats to children and adults, and during the holiday season, we provide holiday meals and gifts for those most in need.

If you need notary services, we’re here for that, too.

The Food Pantry is open Monday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome first come first serve. EXCEPTIONS: The food pantry is closed the first and third Thursday and the last Wednesday of the month.

Thelma D. Burns building

A stunningly renovated event space on our Roxbury/North Dorchester campus, ABCD’s Thelma D. Burns building hosts public and private events that serve and enrich the community. For information about holding your next event here, contact us at burnsbuilding@bostonabcd.org or  617.652.7020.

GET TO KNOW US

All ABCD locations serve income eligible residents in Boston and several neighboring cities and towns. In addition to our core resources, which you can access on our homepage or by clicking the “All Services” button in the main navigation, we offer individual case management and frequently conduct special workshops and classes. Please check the Events page to see what’s happening at our location and throughout Greater Boston.

GIVE BACK BY VOLUNTEERING

ABCD could not do what we do without the help of passionate volunteers. Join us for a day-long project, help out at a major event, or lend a hand on a regular basis. You’ll make a world of difference to our neighbors in need.

NEIGHBORHOOD ROOTS

ABCD is a part of your neighborhood. Each of our locations has a Neighborhood Advisory Board whose members keep us in touch with your community’s current issues, needs and goals. Interested in serving on the advisory board? Have questions or comments? Call or email us anytime.
