Keep your lights on by reducing your overdue utility bills.

Who Qualifies?

If you’re an Eversource or National Grid customer living in Boston, Brookline, Newton or one of the Mystic Valley cities and towns of Malden, Medford, Everett, Melrose, Winchester, Woburn or Stoneham and you receive our Fuel Assistance services, you’re also eligible for our utility bill advocacy program (often called “arrearage management). You can apply for ABCD Fuel Assistance here.

We follow federal guidelines based on your annual income and how many people are in your household. Your gross family income must be at or below 60% of the Massachusetts median income.

Keep Your Lights On

We can help you reduce your overdue utility bills and help you communicate with your service provider if you can’t afford your monthly bills.  

ABCD can help negotiate debt forgiveness and negotiate a fair payment plan so you’ll be able to make your monthly payments.

Depending upon your circumstances, your debt may be forgiven up to $1,500-$2,000 annually when you adhere to a restructured payment plan. To take advantage of these programs, contact National Grid at 800.233.5325 or Eversource at 866.315.2496.

Discount Rates

Discount utility rates are mandated by law, and residents who take part in ABCD’s Energy programs receive the discounts automatically. If you receive TANF, EAEDC, food stamps (SNAP), MassHealth, WIC and other income related programs, you’re also eligible.
